Four Legged Friends Welcome!

We know that for many people, their perfect holiday is not complete without bringing their four legged friends along, and we are delighted that Puddle Cottage welcomes well behaved pets.

Puddle Cottage is located just a short walk from Rutland Water, and there are many fantastic dogs walks locally. We also have a little welcome treat for any dogs that visit but we’ll keep that a surprise for now! Fancy a meal out but want to bring your dog along too? There are pubs in the local area which also welcome dogs – just ask us for more details.

Puddle Cottage was built in 1849 and is situated in Edith Weston on the South shore of Rutland Water. Edith Weston is charming village with a village shop and local pub which serves food and is within 8 miles of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford making it the perfect base to discover all that Rutland has to offer.  The location of Puddle Cottage also means that it is only a short walk to both Rutland Sailing Club and Rutland Fishing Lodge and the banks of Rutland Water.

The cottage is approximately 160 years old and retains all the old character of an old cottage (such as exposed beams and stone), as well as the open fire. The cottage has just been renovated and offers all the charm of an old cottage but with all the modern facilities you would expect when on holiday. The cottage now has central heating throughout, so as well as the open fire roaring in winter, you can snuggle up and keep warm through the winter months. There are modern appliances such as a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer as well as a large flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player. WIFI is also available to guests free of charge. Upstairs, the stairs and bedroom have had a thick wool carpet laid and the bedroom has a zip together super king sized bed which can also presented as two full sized single beds.

Puddle Cottage has recently been awarded its 4 stars by  Quality in Tourism for self-catering accommodation.
