Easter Events in Rutland
The daffodils are in full bloom and the first Ospreys are back at Rutland Water. This all indicates that Easter isn’t far away now (and hopefully Spring too!)
There are so many Easter activities taking place in and around Rutland.
Here are a round up of a few local events:
- There is an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt at Burghley House on 31st March 2024..
- Bertie’s Easter Expedition at Belvior Castle taking place from 27th March – 7th April 2024.
- Easter Fun at Rockingham Castle on Sunday 31st March and Monday 1st April 2024.
- See the lambs at Rutland Farm Park.
- Easter Eggstrvaganza at Sacrewell Farm from 29th March to 1st April 2024.
- One Way Out Escape Rooms in Oakham – Perfect Egg limited edition escape room.
- Easter Adventures at Belton House from 27th March – 14th April 2024.
- Easter Carvery Lunch & Family Egg Hunt at Rutland Hall Sunday 31st March 2024.
- Rutland Water Park Run – Easter Cake Event on Saturday 30th March 2024.
- Ferneley’s Ice Cream & Diary Barn – expect to see a fabulous selection of Easter flavours on offer
- Easter Adventure Trail at Nene Park Peterborough – from 29th March to 14th April 2024.
- Easter Golf and Trail at Rutland Water – 28th March to 14th April 2024.
Don’t forget to pick up your Easter treats from Hambleton Bakery and Lily and Honey. Both bakeries are filled to the brim with freshly made hot cross buns and Simel cakes. You can pick up treats from both bakeries at the wonderful village store, Edith Weston Village store.
Feeling energetic? The Rutland Spring Half Marathon takes place around Rutland Water on 7th April 2024 for both runners and walkers.
Looking to engage in nature and escape the chocolate?! How about the Family Drop in Day Easter Bug Hunting and Crafts at Anglian Bird Watching Centre in Egleton on Sunday 7th April 2024.
Something for the grown ups? Its Craftfest at the Grainstore Brewery in Oakham from 29th March to 1st April 2024. Free entry!

Of course, although there are so many organised activities, there are so many things to do in the area without spending money! You can enjoy the walking and cycle paths around Rutland Water free of charge, as well as enjoying the birds and wildlife on the reservoir easily accessible from the cottages. The fields around Rutland are full of gorgeous Spring lambs and daffodils and many local walks will take in this view.
We do have some limited availability at both Puddle and Snowdrop Cottage in April and May and we keep the availability up to date here

Puddle Cottage and Snowdrop Cottage are 4 star, self catering cottages located in the village of Edith Weston on the South shore of Rutland Water. Rutland Sailing Club, Rutland Water Fishing Lodge and Normanton Church are all within walking distance of the cottage . The cottages both have 1 bedroom, both of which can be presented as either one super king sized bed to two full sized single beds. Well behaved dogs are very welcome at Puddle Cottage.
