A gorgeous Winter’s Day in Rutland
I love Rutland in the autumn and winter months. I look this picture last week on the South side of Rutland Water near Manton in the early morning. These crisp autumn mornings make for fantastic walks from the cottage, and of course there is the open log fire to curl up in front of at the end of the day. Rutland Water is so quiet and you can walk for miles without seeing anyone.
With Christmas only a few weeks away the shops in the local market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford are all ready for Christmas and full of unique gifts . Although not as busy at this time of the year, Rutland Sailing Club, Rutland Water Fishing Lodge and Rutland Cycles (based at Normanton) which are walking distance from the cottage are still open.
If you are visiting the area and are looking for a holiday cottage in Rutland then Puddle Cottage, located in the charming village of Edith Weston, could be for you. The cottage was built in the 1800’s and keeps many of its original charms such as the open log fire, exposed beams and feature stonework. The cottage has recently retained ts 4 star status by Quality in Tourism with features such as a dishwasher, washing machine, flat screen TV with Freeview and WIFI which is available to our guests free of charge. The 1 bedroom cottage can either be presented as a super king size bed or with 2 full size single beds and a travel cot is available upon request. Well behaved dogs are also very welcome and there are many fantastic walks locally. For more details, please contact Anna on 07734175291 or e/mailenquiries@puddle-cottage.co.uk. We would be delighted to welcome you to the area.
