New Year, New Start

If you are looking to escape over the New Year period and start 2013 afresh, then why not consider a stay at Puddle Cottage? The 4 star cottage is just a short walk from the South shore of Rutland Water as well as Rutland Sailing Club, Rutland Fishing Lodge, Rutland Cycling and Normanton Church. This photo was taken on New Year’s Day 2011 on the shores of Rutland Water  – what a perfect way to start the year! The cottage is located in the charming village of Edith Weston which has a pub (‘The Wheatsheaf’) serving food in front of a roaring log fire and a village shop which stocks all the essentials. The cottage is also less than 8 miles from the market towns of Oakham, Stamford and Uppingham making it the perfect base to explore all that Rutland has to offer.

Puddle Cottage was built in the 1800’s and maintains all the original charm of an old cottage, such as exposed beams, feature stonework and an open fire. However the cottage has been recently rennovated and awarded a 4 star status by Quality in Tourism and includes a dishwasher, tumble tumbledryer, and large flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player to name just a few. The cottage has 1 bedroom which can be presented either with a super king sized bed or 2 full size single beds. A double sofa bed can also be used in the living room if required, and a travel cot can be provided on request too. Well behaved dogs are also very welcome.
