What Have We Enjoyed in Rutland Over the Past Few Months?

Quiet Walks by the Water

Winter in Rutland brings a special kind of magic to Rutland Water. The peaceful atmosphere, crisp air, and stunning reflections on the lake make for breathtaking moments. Whether wrapped up for a leisurely stroll or enjoying a deserted footpath, the beauty of winter here is unmatched.

Winter’s Beautiful Skies

January gifted us with stunning skies, including the awe-inspiring parade of the planets. With low air pollution, we were treated to many nights of crystal-clear views—a real treat for stargazers!

Discovering Great Independent Businesses in Oakham

We recently spent an afternoon at the Escape Rooms in Oakham—a perfect indoor adventure for a rainy day!

Speaking of fantastic local businesses, we also stumbled upon Moonflower, a charming independent guitar shop on Mill Street. Run by Ming and Alan, who are both incredibly passionate about music, the shop is a must-visit for guitar lovers. Whether you’re looking for a new instrument or just want to soak in the friendly, musical atmosphere, it’s worth popping in!

For a special occasion, we enjoyed a birthday treat at Hambleton Hall—a truly exceptional experience with both outstanding food and service. If you’re thinking of visiting, their winter ‘Lunch for Less’ menu has been extended, making now the perfect time to indulge.
