Happy Rutland Day!
What a better day to celebrate Rutland Day than showcasing the counties fantastic produce.
On Saturday, the county celebrated ‘Rutland Day’ with a family event and food fair on the shores of Rutland Water.
The event was a showcase for all the fantastic local produce in the local area. It was great to see a few of our favourites exhibiting such as Dickenson & Morris (famous for their Melton Mowbray pork pies), Hambleton Bakery (local bakers), Little Cakes (from cupcakes to wedding cakes!), Northfield Farm for local meats, The Grainstore Brewery for local beer and Otters Deli for local delicacies.
The weather was fantastic and the event overlooked the shores of Rutland Water. There was entertainment throughout the day as well – live music, a bouncy slide and zorbing. Throughout the day, there were also cooking demonstrations from some of the best local chefs such as Sean Hope from the Michelin Stared Pub ‘The Olive Branch’.
This was the third Food Festival to be held at Rutland Water and judging by the turnout on Saturday, it certainly won’t be the last.
