Burghley House Flower Festival
Burghley House holds its Flower Festival in October.
During October, Burghley House is holding a Flower Festival. From the 6th to the 14th October (excluding the 12th October when the house is closed), the state rooms at Burghley House are being decorated with floral displays from local flower societies. There is no additional charge for the Flower Festival – all you will need is either a House and Garden pass or a House only pass. If you are coming visiting Burghley House and are looking for self-catering accommodation close by, then Puddle Cottage could be for you. Puddle Cottage is situated in the village of Edith Weston and is just a short walk to south shore of Rutland Water, including Rutland Sailing Club and Rutland Fishing Lodge. The cottage is less than 10 miles away from Burghley House as well as being just 8 miles from the market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford so is perfectly positioned to explore all that Rutland has to offer. The cottage has just been awarded its 4 star status by Quality in Tourism, as well as holding the Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Awards.
The cottage was built in 1849, but has been recently renovated. Puddle Cottage maintains the charm of a cottage, such as the exposed stone and real log fire but with the benefits of all the mod cons you would expect such as a large flat screen TV with DVD player and Freeview, as well as free WIFI and the all important dishwasher! The 4 star Puddle Cottage has one large bedroom which can be presented as one super-king size bed or two full sized single beds. The cottage also welcomes well behaved dogs.
